It’s a shame about Goodreads
In case you haven’t heard, an author was attacked viciously on goodreads. A new author whose book hadn’t even been published yet was receiving two star reviews. When she asked about it on a message board she was attacked for asking a question. Her name was added to lists of “authors who should be raped in prison” and other horrible, horrible things. As a result, she’s decided NOT to publish her debut novel. THIS is a downright SHAME. No one should EVER have to toss their dreams aside because they were bullied.
To make matters worse, when she contacted goodreads about this, they did nothing because it states in their rules that this kind of behavior is OKAY. How can that be okay? Judgement of a book you’ve read is one thing. Ripping a person to shreds because she asked a question about ratings on a book that wasn’t even out yet is another entirely.
