Review

First, I want to apologize to Ms. Warren for my review being so late. This was supposed to go up yesterday. Please, don’t hate me!

Second, AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Seriously? OMG!  I can’t even…I just can’t!

I was like this. Seriously.

And then, I was like this.

Okay, now for my review. This was the perfect conclusion to a trilogy. I was completely overwhelmed with feels when I was reading this book. I still don’t even know what to say. I’m afraid to give it away! Warren did a fantastic job and I can’t wait to read more from her! I LOVED the way everything tied in together. There were so many surprises and twists and turns. Michelle Warren is the kind of writer who makes me wish I was better, and I have complete confidence in my writing skills.

I think this says it all. lol

If you haven’t read the first two books in this series, you need to or life is a sham. Also, you’ll be completely lost if you try to read Seeing Light first. There are too many things that tie back to the first book to read this one first. They are not standalone.

Review

After reading Wander Dust, I couldn’t wait to jump into Protecting Truth. I was not disappointed, but I don’t think my brain has had a chance to process what happened in the book. I’m still reeling and a little frustrated, but in a good way.

In Book 1 we learn that Bishop, Seraphina’s love interest, is estranged from his brother, but in Book 2 we learn why. When we first meet Turner he immediately grates on your nerves. I didn’t like him, couldn’t stand him, wanted him to be one of the bad guys so he could be killed off or locked away forever in some kind of time warp prison, but as the book progresses, I found myself softening toward him and even wanting him to take Bishop’s place. I won’t go any farther, because I don’t want to spoil anything. I loved this book so much that I NEED you to go buy it. Read the first one if you have to.

Now, Seraphina. In Book 2, she frustrates me. She’s keeping all of these secrets and hurting people close to her and part of me can’t understand why. I forget that she’s a teenager and hasn’t learned the life lessons that I have. Lying and keeping secrets doesn’t make anyone a superhero nor does it make things better. In the end, someone is going to be hurt.

*SIGH* I can’t wait to read Book 3, Seeing Light! Seriously, this series is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time!

Review

First, I want to commend Ms. Warren on the great visuals that were available to use in this post. Absolutely amazing.

Okay, my review. While I’m not a fan of the tense in which Wander Dust is written, I was completely blown away by the story and the strong prose. After one book, I am a fan. Michelle Warren has a great gift for story telling. Add to that, her amazing covers and the drawings you see in this post (I don’t know if she drew them or not, but I don’t care. She gets extra points for them), and I’m absolutely hooked. Wander Dust is an amazing story of time travel, but it doesn’t tell it’s story through the time travel. That is to say, it doesn’t get hung up on making the travel a literary device. It’s part of the story. And I like that. I like it a lot.

For being YA, it didn’t feel like YA. I love that. It’s so refreshing not to find teenagers acting like teenagers.

I try not to mention grammatical errors unless they are really really prevalent. In this case, if there were any, I missed them because I was sooo into the story! I read this book in a day. I couldn’t get away from it! I just wanted to keep going and I cannot WAIT to get into book two of this series.
